Space Epic Untitled was a competitive multiplayer space game with local cooperative mechanics for Streaming Media Devices, that incorporates multi-screen gameplay using mobile devices. A core feature was allowing a local group of friends to play together by using their mobile phones or tablets to connect to the streaming device to form a crew for a space ship. Each ship could be co-operated by a 3-person crew, each with their own unique roles and gameplay: Pilot (Streaming Device: ship navigation and weapons), Gunner (Mobile: turret and attack drones), and Engineer (Mobile: shields and video comms).
This project was 1 of 3 multi-screen games I worked on while at Kuma Games. I learned a lot about designing UI and interactive experiences for multi-screen devices, its constraints and possibilities for player engagement. It was a very iterative design process and highly collaborative, where I worked closely with programmers, 3D modelers, and illustrators. I also created artworks and materials for marketing campaigns and promotional merch.
